Warm Congratulations to SEEK Bio for Winning the 2021 Shanghai Science and Technology Award

On December 1, 2021, the Shanghai Science and Technology Awards Conference was successfully held to solemnly recognize and honor scientists who have made outstanding contributions to the nation, Shanghai’s scientific and technological progress, and modernization efforts. Leaders in attendance included Li Qiang, Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee; Gong Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai; Jiang Zhuoqing, Director of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress; and Dong Yunhu, Chairman of the Shanghai CPPCC.

In 2020, a total of 281 Shanghai Science and Technology Awards were presented. Among the recipients, 10 individuals received the Outstanding Youth Science and Technology Contribution Award; 45 achievements were awarded the Natural Science Award; 33 achievements received the Technological Invention Award; 181 achievements were honored with the Science and Technology Progress Award; and 10 achievements received the Science Popularization Award. Bruce E. Rittmann, an expert from the United States, was awarded the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.

SEEK Bio-Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai University of Engineering Science, and three other institutions, jointly implemented the project titled "Key Technologies and Applications for Carbonization and Efficient Resource Utilization of Agricultural and Forestry Waste". This project achieved significant progress in resource recycling, ecological environmental protection, and high-quality green agricultural development, with outstanding overall benefits. It was awarded the Second Prize of the 2020 Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award.
Professor Shen Guoqing of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, as the project’s principal contributor, represented the project team at the award ceremony.
